It accepts 2 EN-EL9 batteries to effectively double the camera's battery life. The BG-N3 offers an alternate shutter release button to facilitate shooting in a vertical orientation. Note! This item triggers the camera's shutter via an infrared signal. It will not work with non-IR Nikon models. Batteries sold separately.
